Meet the Team - Legion Road Animal Clinic

Lisa Payne - Client Care Representative
Originally from Michigan, I moved to North Carolina in 2000. I've been working as a customer service coordinator in the veterinary medicine field since 2000. I've been with Legion Road Animal Clinic since January of 2003. I've always had a love for animals, and enjoy working in an environment where I can express that affection. My family and I share our life with Betty, a playful Lab mix, and our big fat kitty boy, Piper.

Jeannie Barker, Client Care RepresentativeJeannie5
I have been a Client Care Representative with Legion Road since June of 2007. Having tried other career paths, I have finally aligned my profession with my passion and that is caring for animals and their "people". A North Carolina native, I now reside in Mebane, with my husband, Mitch, and our three beautiful kitties, Cocoa, Peaches, and Benny. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, flower gardening, and trips to NC's beautiful mountains.

Janne Groner, Client Care Representative

Janne has lived in the Chapel Hill area since 1984, and has been a client of Timberlyne Animal Clinic almost that long!  She has enjoyed her pets of parakeets, a cat and two dogs over the years.  She started work at Legion Road Animal Clinic in November 2004.  Outside the clinic, she enjoys her two almost-grown children, doing energy healing work, listening to all kinds of music, and watching the wild birds and other animals in her front yard.

Christopher Watkins - Practice ManagerChris Watkins
Chris joined the clinics in 2003.  As the practice manager he is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinics. The aspects of veterinary medicine Chris most enjoys are feline medicine and emergency critical care nursing.  Outside of the clinic he enjoys reading, cooking, traveling to the mountains and volunteering at his Church, and of course spending time with his two cats Special Agent and Ms. Wiskers.

Elaina Soileau, Aide to Veterinary Assistants
I have lived in Chapel Hill my entire life. I graduated from Alamance Community College in July and am continuing my education at UNC-CH now. I plan to major in Biology. I have been interested in animals since I was a child, and at 7 I began riding horses. I now own a horse, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a cockatiel and a bearded dragon. Quite a menagerie! I hope to do field research for ecological studies. I enjoy working with, and getting to know, the animals at Legion Road Animal Clinic, and I look forward to working here for several more years!

Molly Little,Client Care Representative
Molly LittleI came to work at Legion Road Animal Clinic in the spring of 2006 as an Animal Care Provider. I worked in the kennel until becoming pregnant with my second child. I now work in reception and enjoy having more of a relationship with the clients after working with their pets for so long. I have been married for three years and we are expecting our second child in March 2008. We are also very blessed to have in our family, Coley our dog and Kaden, Lucky and Snuffy our cats

Cassidee Smith, Veterinary Assistant
Cassidee Smith"I’ve always cared and have had a respect for all animals since childhood." Cassidee finds that spending the majority of her time providing the "best care possible" and the chance to "better the lives of animals" brings her great joy. Educating people on how to take better care of their own pets is a top concern. Cassidee feels that her main responsibility is, understanding the needs of the pets entrusted to her care.

Maria Ray, Animal Care Provider

I started working at Legion Road Animal Clinic in 2004. Many clients know me because I have bathed their animals and cared for them while boarding. I took a short leave-of-absence and returned to the Clinic in December 2006 after giving birth to my beautiful baby girl, whom I love dearly! I am excited to be back and am happy to be caring for your pets once again.

Alison Johnston, Animal Care Provider

A long time resident of North Carolina, I have always loved animals. I’m finally getting to work in my dream field. During my free time I love to draw, mostly animals. I am also the proud owner of a female American Pit Bull Terrier named Genevieve, who is super sweet. I look forward to caring for your pets!
